The Georgia Straight calls them “the bane of B.C.’s labour movement because of its relentless advocacy for the nonunionized construction sector.” The NDP Government probably wouldn’t be so polite.
But for 2,100 construction and resource businesses in B.C., the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association is their voice, fighting hard for their members’ concerns about a strong provincial economy, fair and open tendering and other important initiatives.
And now the ICBA has been recognized with a prestigious Reed Award for North American Trade Association of the Year. Jordan Bateman, ICBA’s Vice President-Communications, joined Rick Cluff in studio to talk about this honour.
